It may not be five years from now before we witness the first biggest conundrum, a crime planned and committed by Artificial Intelligence. Often, when we imagine the next phase of Artificial Intelligence, we always imagine the learning as supervised. That the Artificial Intelligence will be response for only that which the human programmed into it at the beginning.
But what if Artificial Intelligence is to take its own course. What if Artificial Intelligence can hatch a crime and commit it at scale? Are the courts today ready to deal with this conundrum? The biggest threats to justice may be our ability to navigate the thin lines of Artificial Intelligence crimes.
Yet, we could also argue that Artificial Intelligence also promises more hope for justice and human rights than we could envisage. That Artificial Intelligence could reduce the turn-around to judgement in court cases.
