In a ceremony held on December 8, 2023, Irene Nayera, esteemed Advisory Board member at Africa Nxt Gen Foundation, proudly accepted the prestigious Gold Gender Equality Seal on behalf of Hima Cement. The recognition, conferred through a program facilitated by UNDP Uganda and Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU), underscores Hima Cement’s steadfast dedication to advancing gender equality, dismantling barriers, and fostering an inclusive workplace that facilitates the success of all individuals.

The Gold Gender Equality Seal, a symbol of excellence in promoting gender equality, serves as a testament to Hima Cement’s ongoing commitment to creating an environment where diversity is celebrated, and every member of the workforce is empowered to thrive and excel.

Initiated by UNDP Uganda, in collaboration with PSFU, the Gender Equality Seal Certification program aims to assist private companies in comprehensively integrating gender considerations into their policies. Through this initiative, companies enhance their strategies for promoting gender equality, ultimately contributing to the economic and social empowerment of women.
